Entry for May 24, 2007

Temp 67 High was 72 but the sun is finally coming out.

We had som of the promised thunderstorms move through early this morning. TONS of lightening and thunder, half an inch or so of rain and some wind. Not nearly what they got up in Hutchinson, where they got something like 8 inches in a 12 hour period. At one point, rain was falling at a rate of 2 inches/hour.

Bekah's last half day of school was today. She is happy. Me, eh. Other things are on my mind. But I will be fine.

This is a cardinal that regularly visits my feeder on my front porch, along with the house finches, as you can see. I have also seen mourning doves, grackles, the occasional jay and one, just once, a balitmore oriole. Oh, and my half blind squirrel. Poor old thing has cataracts and if you stay downwind and stay quiet, you can get to with in about 12 inches or so of him or her. One of these days, it will be a cat, and not me that sneaks up on him.

I hope to get stitching photos posted. I did get some work done on "Christmas Celebrations"

Gotta run Later
