First things, my condolences to the victims of the Greensburg tornado and all the nasty weather we had this past weekend. We lucked out here in Sumner county and didn't really even get all the rain we were supposed to.
Here is my progress on "Christmas Celebrations". I didn't get as much done as I wanted to, for good and not so good reasons.
Saturday, we went over to in-laws house and they were having plumbing issues. So since we have an electric snake, Greg helped try and figure out why. Not a hard conclusion, except one thing. The problems stemmed from tree roots. Of course the fact that the previous plumber, and I will name them, Chew Plumbing , did a STUPID repair didn't help matters. They "couldn't find" the clean out that it took Greg all of 5 mins to find in the basement. So the punched a hole in the pipe. That would have been ok, if they had bothered to repair it correctly, with a Y access, or even with silicone sealant and tin. Not just laying a piece of tin on the pipe and using the pressure of the dirt to hold it in place.
How moronic. And for this repair they charged $300. Of course, I suppose they figured it would give them repeat business. And Gary wonders why I don't like to go local.
Every time I have in this town with ONE exception, I have gotten f*ed over or just plain bad service. Nothing like being captive audience.
So we spent all day Saturday there fixing that, and then part of the day Sunday changing oil.
Patrick is down to about 5 more days of school. Bekah is down to about 12. I need to look into programs for them for the summer. Number one on the list is swimming lessons. Then we will look into other stuff from the rec center.
Not much else going on here. I have done my venting on livejournal about some other issues, but that is not for public consumption. I think if anyone were to read that, I would be in the nuthouse in a heartbeat.
