Entry for June 22, 2007

HI-89 and too dang humid! And here I forgot to grow gills this summer....*sigh*

No stitching this entry. I started the week off with the intention of getting those cool ties done early and leaving myself the rest of the week to stitch. No such luck.

Monday, I did manage to get all 110 that were cut serged on the side and one end. Monday night I complained to Greg of a sore throat and figured I was coming down with a cold.

Tuesday I woke up and knew it wasn't a cold. I had a horrible headache. I felt like one of those Play-Doh barbershop figures and someone was pumping me up to give me a haircut. Only problem was all the little holes in my head are stopped with dried up doh. And mine wasn't going to pop out, hopefully. By 10am I asked Greg to come home because the fever was starting to set in. By the time he got home I was completely worthless. I spent the rest of the day, night and most of the next day under blankets, shivering. I was nauseous but couldn't throw up.

Anyway, that threw my entire plan and routine off. And since Greg worked from home for those two days and took care of the kids, I had one hellacious mess in the house. It has taken me two days to get things back to some resemblance of order.

We watched "Bridge to Terabithia" on Wednesday night. The movie was NOT what the trailers led me to expect, a variation of Narnia and Alice in Wonderland. I had not read the book when I was in school. I would have been the right age, but I just don't remember it. That said, I thought it was a good movie. I don't think I will watch it again, though. Same way I avoid watching "Old Yeller". I dislike movies that make me cry. Never have been a good chick for chick flicks. I have never watched "Steel Magnolias" or "Fried Green Tomatoes". , nor do I want to. I would rather watch "The Longest Yard", "Slap Shot" or "M.P. and the Holy Grail" I have enough things to cry over in real life, movies are for me a way to escape for a while.

The second movie of the week was "Epic Movie" Now that is one I can safely say, "There are two hours of my life I will never get back" Can we say STUPID!!??!! I mean, even stupider than what I expected from the people who make those. Nothing was funny, way too much humor about pee. Not that I don't enjoy a small, potty humor joke occasionally, but those are usually funny, these weren't. And one joke that is not funny is forgiveable. An entire movie full of them is just....pathetic.

Last movie for the week is "Pan's Labyrinth". We probably won't get to it until Sunday. We have a party to go to tomorrow, celebrating Gary and Andrea's 40th wedding anniversary.

I guess I should cut this short (too late for THAT I can hear you say). If you are still here, that's what is going on here. Thanks for listening and talk to you later!
