Entry for January 27, 2007

  Temp-35

Here is the update on Christmas Celebration. I am having a tough time picking it up and working on it. I don't think its because it Christmas is over. I just have lost interest in finishing it. I know that I don't like the way it looks. If I hadn't been so strapped for cash, I would have found different fabric or fibers to do it in. Some hand dyed fabric and overdyed floss. And there are a couple of other things I am changing out when and if I do it again. I am going to finish Heart Collector here shortly and will be wanting to start something else. I will have to make myself work on it while I start the next project. I am so close to finishing the Heart Collector I don't want to stop now.

I am going to start one or two of these

I did find something really cool, to me at least. Jeannette Douglas is going to be teaching a class at The Silver Needle in Tulsa. I may get to go!!!!! YIPEEE> I have never gone to anything like this, and I love her designs. In fact, I now have a new thing on my wish list..

it is so unlike anything else she has done, but I love the colors.

Well, for my more complete update. This month has had its share of ups and downs. Mooch died back around the 8th, the same day Greg told me me he had to go to Norman and was going to be gone for 3 days. One nice thing was it was almost 70 that day, so it was easy to dig the hole. Bekah ended up being late but we gave Mooch a proper burial.

That weekend, winter hit. Someone left the door to Canada open and all the cold aire came flooding down. Not as cold as other places, but the 3 inches of sleet was absolutely no fun. Then came the snow. That time it was around 3-5 inches. Didn't that make driving fun. The Bekah was home because of a teacher inservice and Ms Heidi called off Patrick's preschool. So every one was home, including Greg, that Monday.

We got another blast the following weekend. This time it was pretty much just snow, but it was 7" of wet stuff. I still hadn't gotten all the compacted sleet and ice up off the sidewalk, so it was one mess. Now the driveway is a mudpit because all the snow is starting to melt.

Greg has to be in Norman again on the 5th. He invited me to come down and go to his boss' Superbowl party on Sunday, but there is no one to watch the kids during this time and I wouldn't know what to do with them in Norman/OKC while he was at work or where to take them during the party. Oh well. it would have been nice to socialize with adults, but I guess Podunkville is where I will be with the rugrats.

I guess there isn't a whole lot else going on here. Greg's birthday is Sunday He hits 40, but I haven't planned any horrid things for him. Dennis and Vicki are taking us out to eat at Outback tonight. I can't wait, its been a loooong time since we have eaten out as adults. Last time we ate out was Macaroni Grill and we won't be repeating that any time soon!!! Horrible service, half the food cold/kept under a heat lamp way too long, half the food too hot to eat. And then I wonder why I don't try new places more often. Although, Greg is going to take me up to one of the good Indian resturants he learned about from working with Sangita, Swarna and Krishna. He has offered to take me the German resturant, but German isn't exotic enough. Too much like what I grew up with anyway.

I am going to stop now, so I can finish up the dishes and laundry and then I won't feel guilty about stitching and going out to eat. Later all and take it easy!!
