This has been one heck of an up and down week.
First, its been hotter than hell. Its supposed to get to over 100 later this week.
Then, I get out of bed on Monday morning and come down stairs to find that my lovely son has tried to make KoolAid. Now he had the right idea, put the koolaid in a pitcher, add water and add white stuff. Unfortunatly, he picked the wrong white stuff. He used flour instead of sugar. Then, he spilt what he had. Now, we all know what happens with water and flour. There is a reason the word gluten starts with glu....that is what I have on my kitchen carpet, by the dryer, orange glue.
Monday night, the electricity goes off at 12:30 am. It stays off for 90 minutes. The whole city went out. And it has gone out every day since. Now, granted, after that it was 30 mins, then 10, so they are getting better but, for pete's sake. Is it that hard to keep the power on??
Tuesday, I come down to let Jessie out to find that she is no longer using one of her hind legs. I knew then it was time. Because of scheduling, I couldn't get it done until Weds. morning. I have been in a funk the whole time since. I maybe should have done it sooner, and I kept hoping she would pass one evening. Instead, I feel like I killed her......
Wed, while we are at the vet, Greg gets a call back from York. They are trying to schedule a second round interview. He tells me its for 2:30 pm the next day.
Thursday, he gets a call at 11:45 asking where he is. Seems they misunderstood each other and he was supposed to be there at 10:30. OOOPPPPS. But he went and from what he said the interview went well. Other than being late, it sounds like he made an impression. mostly for having a personality. lol Greg had never been accused of not having a personality. We both have a good feeling about it. I am really hoping this comes through. When they asked a salary, he put down a figure 6K over what he is making now. They said "That shouldn't be a problem" and commented on him being the only one who put down a figure. So, if his salary goes up by 6K a year and the insurance goes from 7K/yr to 1700/yr, that means we will be able to catch back up again. And have money to do things.
Today, I got an email from a lady in Moundsville. A couple of weeks ago, she had posted on Freecycle that she had an upright piano. I didn't get it then, but the people who were going to get it, didn't show up, so she said we could have it. Greg and the twins are going tomorrow afternoon to go get it.
BTW the above graphic came from http://rainbowsbridge.com/Poem.htm I don't know who the original artist is.
