Entry for August 06, 2007

High 99 believe the HI was somewhere around 103. I wanna go back to CO

We just got back from taking the kids to the Grands for a week. I am going to miss them, but we are planning on getting some kitchen work done. We are going to plumb the mudroom and move the washer and dryer out there and get the fridge in the kitchen and the d/w hooked up. Then we will get the tiling done in the kitchen. I am going to paint Mariska's bedroom and try and get a little more painted in Patrick's and Rebekah's rooms.

This is a pic of Jeannette Douglas' "Nothern Lights Sampler" that I stitched for Bill and Ruth Ann when they moved to Alaska. They moved back before I got it finished, but they still wanted it and she just recently got it framed so I took the opportunity to get a picture of it.

The trip was pretty nice. We went the southern route, though Dodge City and Garden City and right into Beulah. The main road to Beulah was washed out from a storm that dumped 6 inches on them in about 4 hours, so we ended up going an around about way, but enjoyed the smell of the pine and spruce the whole way. Saw some deer, black squirrells and the humming birds at Ruth Ann's feeder. At one point, we estimated 15-20 at the feeder. I tried to get pics, but those darn things are so fast. This is about the best I got:

The animals are pretty happy to see us and although we are missing the kids we were happy to get home. I will leave you with a picture of a scene that will probably be repeated often this weekend....later all
