Entry for July 01, 2007

  The rain has stopped, but the hits just keep coming, literally.

Greg and I are sitting on the couch around 11pm Friday night, when we hear a truck start at the neighbors across the street, and then a bang like a car door slamming. You guessed it, a friend of theirs was backing out of their driveway and backed right into our little Comanche with his little S10. The kicker is, he didn't bother stopping. So we had to call 911 on the hit and run. He did come back Saturday to say he was "late for work". The officer that came and took the report talked to the neighbor and said he was "familiar" with the guy and that it didn't surprise him that he did this. So, I get to do a run to a body shop to get and estimate for the police. Oh, joy ofjoys.

The cellar flooded again and this time our garage flooded, too. So I will be slogging through the crap in there and tossing what is ruined.

My friend Joan is coming down for the 4th. So I have a busy week. Idon't know if I will make anymore progress on "Northern Shield" but this is what I have done so far.  I really want to start on "Great Lakes Lowland" but considering the way our yard looks, lakes and lowlands are two things I don't want to think of right now.

That is it for now. I have a ton of laundry to fold. It never ends. If you don't hear from me in a week, send a search party.
