Finished cross stitch in 2008
A complete finish--frame and all
Here is Northern Shield, completely matted and framed. I laced it up on Friday night while watching "I Am Legend" I picked up the mat at a local glass/framing/rv shop in town, Carroll Glass. They were so helpful, and I am loving the subtly colored mat she helped me pick out. I am going to stop hitting Hobby Lobby for mat board, unless they have a sale
Hope you all had a great Easter. I had to work and arranged to get off a bit early so I could go to see the kids do the family egg hunt at 3. Then it got moved up and I missed it... I was pretty bummed. But the kids had fun and the Easter bunny was good to them. They all got a couple of t-shirts and a stuffed bunny and, of course, the obligatory candy.
Work has been ok. No big changes. I still don't like cleaning patient rooms, but what are you gonna do?
With the upheaval and changes in Greg's schedule, my schedule got off and I have gained a few pounds back. So hopefully I can get back on track.
The house is a shambles, so I am going to do 15 mins in each room. Might not make it absolutely fantastic, but it will be better. I also want to clean out my car and vacuum it. I have a trellis to paint, a rose bush to plant, the back yard needs picked up.
And as a final send off, massive cuteness. The kittens are three weeks old. They are starting to toddle around on their feet, rather than scooting around like seals.
Well, I am off to start on the bathroom. Its the room that needs the least work, so I figured I would start with some place that gave me quick results and a sense of accomplishment. Later all!

Kittens at one week

I increased my SABLE!!
Here is the haul I got off ebay. The colors aren't quite right, but pretty close. They are all 28 ct linen. The Blue Spruce piece is 39" x 23". The Mulberry is 37" x 27". The Prairie Grain piece is 46" x 33" . And the overdyed piece, Pilgrim Brown is 36" x 27" on the top and the bottom is 22" x 27" ( it has had a 14 x 15 piece cut out). For all of this, I paid $36, including shipping. I guess I didn't realize just how much fabric there was! Now to rifle my patterns to find projects for them. Oh, woe is me, that will be such torture....
The kittens are doing well, and Rose is being a very good mama. I will try to get pictures of them tomorrow. A couple oft them have one eye open and a couple more are close. They are growing like crazy. It always amazes me how quickly the little ones grow.
I have worked this weekend and my feet are feeling it. And I still have to work tomorrow. And its daylight saving tonight, so I am going to lose an hour sleep. I am going to die. Well, not really, but...
Not much else to report today. I guess I need to wrap this up and head to bed. Hope you all have a great rest of the weekend!

Its been a long time.
I have no good reason and I am apologizing right now for not keeping up on here better. I will try to update everyone on what is going on around here and then I will start catching up on everyone else's lives.
Not a whole lot going on here. I guess the biggest news is that Rose had kittens last night. We didn't get her fixed in time and she went carousing. As you can see, they are tiny but cute. The kids are so interested in them, but behaving pretty well and not bothering her. On the contrary, she seems to be the one who wants to be bothered. I may see if I can come up with a different setup where she isn't quite so isolated.
Greg left for DC this morning until Wed pm. So I am a single mom for three days. I'm gonna get lonely for adults.
Rebekah had her first sleep over this weekend. She had a blast as they rented a room at one of the hotels so they could use the indoor pool.
Patrick went to the dr a month or so ago. I was heading back from Wichita when Greg got a call that we had to pick him up at the school. Well, he headed out, trying to call me the whole time. He finally got me when he was about half the way home. It seems there was a little kid in Patrick's class who was crying and Patrick "didn't want to hear". But if he put his hands over his ears, he couldn't do his work. So he broke of bits of his eraser and stuck them in his ears. Well, the nurse couldn't get them out, so we ended up taking him to the dr. Thanks Doc, for squeezing him in!!!
Little Miss is her usual, headstrong self. Ornery as all get out.
I haven't been stitching much. I did go to my LNS and get some threads and material to try "Christmas Celebrations" by Periwinkle Promises again. I got some pretty overdyes by Thread Gatherer, Weeks Dye Works and Crescent Colors. I just need to serge the edges of the material and all will be ready
I'm still working at the medical office bldg/hospital. It gets me out and for the most part I don't mind it. Other than I seem to drag home every bug running around this town. Thankfully I have been spared the flu, but I had the creeping crud and a pretty nasty stomach bug last week.
The weight loss has been going ok. I have lost 32 lbs total so far, but I have hit a plateau at the moment. I need to up my activity level a bit.
I guess that is the end of the updates so far. I am going to check up on every one else. Talk to you all later.!
